INTERLAKEN - Days 1 - 3

Day one of this trip started off with a train ride from Geneva airport to Montreux. A quick coffee break before we hopped onto the Golden Pass Express train to Interlaken - first class, what a treat with panoramic windows allowing amazing views of the vast landscapes that developed as we travelled through the mountain ranges.

Once we arrived in Interlaken, a slow day and early night before exciting activities that followed on the second day. We visited the Jungfrau Glacier region, where you can enjoy the views at the top of the observatory or take part in mountain activities! On our descent down the mountain we stopped at various villages that day, Wengen, Murren and the inspiration behind Tolkien's Rivendell - Lauterbrunnen with 72 waterfalls spreading along the valley.

Our final day in Interlaken, we travelled to a nearby valley - Grindelwald. Here you can take part in many heart racing activities. We decided to do the first cliff walk, a path that wraps round the mountain's edge giving breathtaking views. Later that day we travelled back to Interlaken and explored further, ascending the Harder Kulm by a cog train, where we sat and had a drink enjoying even more stunning views. Our stay at Interlaken ended with an evening celebrating Swiss National day with fireworks lighting the evening sky. A perfect end to an even more perfect stay before travelling onto the next…

ZERMATT - Days 4 - 5

The fourth day of our trip we travelled to Zermatt, home of the Matterhorn - the mountain on the toblerone bar! Today was about relaxing and exploring the town after a busy few days.

The following day, before heading to Montreux we travelled up by train to the Matterhorn region, enjoying the scenery that was there of this stunning mountain range.

MONTREUX - Days 5 - 7

Once we arrived in Montreux, we explored the surroundings before enjoying an evening meal at the hotel we were staying at.

The following day, we took a trip to Guerre, which has castle grounds and a cheese factory to visit. We chose to go to the castle ground arrears being transported back in time, taking the opportunity to visit the Ghieger museum situated there - the art of films such as Alien. This was the last day of the trip before travelling back to Geneva the next morning to head back home.
